Past visiting international speakers
Lori West, Professor of Paediatrics, Surgery and Immunology from the University of Alberta and current President of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation, previously gave a lecture on “ABO – Immunology in Transplantation: New Avenues of Exploration”.
Professor Greg Snell from the University of Melbourne, Australia visited the Institute and delivered a talk on “Transplant Outcomes after Lung Donation after Circulatory Death”.
Our symposium programme deals with specific projects in more depth. It also promotes opportunities for collaborative research between clinicians working in the Institute of Transplantation and Newcastle University researchers, and researchers from other organisations.
We have held symposiums on a range of topics, including “An introduction to stem cells and their potential use as therapies”.
